The area of the Basement-June 24 showing is underlain by Devonian to Upper Triassic metasediments and metavolcanics of the Icefield Ranges assemblage. The showing consists of disseminated sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and minor galena in a bedded barite and carbonate horizon within a sequence of intermediate to mafic vol- canics, chlorite schist, and brown limestone. A chip sample across 6 metres contained 26 per cent barium, with a 20 centimetre thick zone assaying 0.12 per cent zinc, 3.3 grams per tonne silver, and trace copper, gold, lead, and cobalt.
